MARRIAGE = SAFE?

Created in response to the 2025 JAGDA International Student Poster Award theme, “Safe,” this poster questions whether marriage is as secure as it is traditionally understood.
In many Asian cultures, marriage is associated with love, commitment and a stable future. I began by questioning whether this belief is always as safe as we assume.
The poster asks, “Marriage = safe?” by transforming the familiar wedding-ring form. As its inner edge becomes sharp and spike-like, a symbol of protection and security begins to feel uncertain and dangerous.
